The year’s top-grossing documentary? An anti-Obama film

Meet the film “2016: Obama’s America.” You may not be familiar with the well-timed release (adapted from a book by conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza) from the same production company that brought you “Atlas Shrugged: Part 1,” but not only has it already made more money than that politically-charged adaptation, it managed to make more money on Friday than “The Dark Knight Rises,” “The Campaign,” and every new release this weekend. It is the year’s top-grossing documentary (EDIT: besides nature documentaries), though it’s worth pointing out that it has a long way to go before it’s this year’s “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
